Dr. Teitelbaum has extensive experience performing rhinoplasty surgery. He has experience performing rhinoplasties on everything from complicated “ethnic” rhinoplasties to smoothing out the smallest bumps on the nose.
There are two significant approaches to the nose: the open rhinoplasty and the closed rhinoplasty. With the open approach a small incision is made across the columella, the structure that is in between the nostrils. With a closed approach, everything is done on the inside. Dr. Teitelbaum is adept at both procedures and offers whichever is most appropriate for that patient.
Dr. Teitelbaum’s cultivated aesthetics has enabled him to envision a nasal shape and size that naturally enhanced the appearance of many rhinoplasty patients.
A nose looks most natural when it does not draw attention. It should be sublimely beautiful, but a type of beautiful that enhances a particular face. It is helpful when patients bring in photographs of noses they like, but ultimately Dr. Teitelbaum will help you realize what the best goals are for your nose and, thus, your face.
Most patients who want surgery on their nose have very specific concerns, and there is a temptation by the surgeon to over treat that problem. A bump on the nose usually should be made flat, but when it is turned into a large depression then the problem can be made worse in the opposite direction by creating a “ski slope” sort of an appearance.
Dr. Teitelbaum has not only an extraordinary skill at envisioning what changes to the nose will create a pleasing and natural contour, but the ability to deliver that look to his patients as well.
