The first service StemSource is offering is stem cell banking. This affords
patients already planning to have a liposuction procedure the opportunity
to bank their stem cells for later use. These banked stem cells, frozen in
suspended animation, are safely stored at StemSource's facility until needed
by the patient. The cells are stored in four separate compartments making
it possible for patients to use their stem cells several different times.
Laboratory studies have shown that fat cells removed from liposuction can
be made to develop into various tissue types, such as bone, cartilage, nerve,
and muscle. This is very exciting, and at some point in the not too distant
future, will totally revolutionize medicine.
At this time, StemSource is only storing the fat; they are not yet offering
