Obtaining Records from Another Doctor
Dr. Teitelbaum performs many revision surgeries. Old records are very helpful because they help him to better understand what a patient has already undergone, perhaps what the findings were, issues such as implant size, etc. He can usually proceed without this information, but it is always helpful to have as much information as possible.
Many patients understandably feel uncomfortable asking another doctor for records. But surgeons are accustomed to sending records to other doctors on a frequent basis, so this should not be a cause for concern. And doing what gives you the best result should obviously be your first priority.
